How to Survive the Animatronics
Turning away from Foxy can cost you the escape you were seconds from earning. This Closing Shift animatronics guide explains which threats demand light, silence, distance, or obedience. Learn those differences before searching the restaurant, because each hunter follows its own rules.
Your main objective is to collect four keys and the four-digit code needed to call the elevator. Search drawers and cabinets while keeping track of nearby hiding spots, doorways, and camera access.
Keep these encounter rules in mind:
| Hunter or event | What to do | Related badge |
|---|---|---|
| Foxy | Keep your flashlight aimed at his face until he retreats. | STAND YOUR GROUND |
| Freddy in Parts & Service | Stay put and let him pass when the warning appears. | NECK INTACT |
| Fredbear | Put doorways between you and him while he squeezes through. | TIGHT SQUEEZE |
| Birthday song | Stay in the room and remain silent during the song. | DON'T LEAVE |
Voice chat is part of the danger. Animatronics can hear you, and speaking can also open opportunities to negotiate. Save conversation for deliberate interactions; avoid calling out your hiding place or shouting to teammates during a pursuit.

Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica: Handle Close Encounters Carefully

Freddy: Hide before he sees where you went
A closet is a hiding place, but Freddy can investigate it if he watches you enter. Break his line of sight before ducking inside rather than expecting the door to erase the chase.
Doors and barricades can delay a hunter, but animatronics can kick them down. Use that delay to create distance instead of waiting beside the barricade.
Parts & Service requires a different response. When the warning tells you Freddy is entering, stay put and let him pass. Surviving that encounter earns NECK INTACT.
Bonnie: Keep unnecessary conversation out of the chase
Bonnie responds to noise and can confront players at close range. Stop chatting when he approaches, and keep your attention on your surroundings rather than trying to answer every line of dialogue.
Silence does not make you invisible. Continue watching doorways and your escape route even after you stop speaking. Avoid lingering nearby just to provoke another response.
Chica: Pay attention to the kitchen encounter
Chica mixes restaurant hospitality with threats, including questions about food and instructions involving the kitchen. An invitation to help cook is still a dangerous encounter.
Listen to her current instructions and read any prompts before responding. Avoid spending the interaction talking over her or asking teammates unrelated questions.
Making it out of Chica’s kitchen alive earns FIVE-STAR SERVICE. Keep that encounter separate from ordinary room searching: once Chica engages you, focus on what she is asking.
Foxy: Keep the Flashlight on His Face
Foxy has a direct counter: hold your light steadily on his face until he backs off.

Do not replace sustained light with a quick flash and then turn to run. Keep him illuminated through the encounter. Holding him back until he retreats earns STAND YOUR GROUND.
Before entering another hallway:
- Check your flashlight battery.
- Pick up spare batteries when you find them.
- Keep your view clear enough to aim at an approaching Foxy.
- Stop searching containers when he needs your attention.
Use your light deliberately while exploring so you have it ready for him. Switching it away to inspect a drawer during his approach gives up the counter you need.
Golden Freddy and Fredbear Require Different Responses
Image: Roblox / DoggyTroug
Golden Freddy: Look away from the golden figure
When the screen goes dark and a golden figure appears in the corner, avert your gaze. Resist the urge to center the camera on it for a closer look.
Keep this response distinct from Foxy’s: Foxy demands sustained attention and light, while this golden apparition calls for looking away.
Fredbear: Use his difficulty with doorways
Fredbear has to squeeze through doorways. Put rooms and doors between you and him to take advantage of that delay.
Keep moving while he works his way through. Avoid backing into a dead end simply because he is slower at the threshold.
Surviving Fredbear squeezing into your room earns TIGHT SQUEEZE. A cramped room gives you little room to recover, so identify your next exit before he reaches the doorway.
How to Survive the Birthday Party
The birthday party interrupts normal exploration and gives you explicit rules. Follow the event’s dialogue instead of continuing your key hunt.
- Stay in your seat when instructed. Wait for permission to leave.
- Use question periods carefully. The party includes moments when questions are invited.
- Stop speaking when told to be quiet. An earlier invitation to talk does not carry through the entire event.
- Look away when instructed. Keep your attention off the disturbing activity the event tells you to ignore.
- Remain silent during the birthday song. Stay in the room until the sequence releases you.
The distinction between conversation and singing matters. Freddy can invite questions, then demand silence moments later. Follow the current instruction rather than assuming talking remains safe.
Surviving the party earns PARTY GUEST. Staying in the room through the birthday song and living earns DON'T LEAVE.
Use the Puppet and Cameras to Handle Other Threats
The Puppet at the security desk offers help through speech, typing, or selectable questions. Ask for advice when you need a rule explained; doing so also earns A LITTLE ADVICE.
When an alert identifies someone outside, open the cameras and locate the indicated area. Use the camera flash on the squatter to drive him away. Completing that action earns CAMERA SHY.
Separate these threats from the roaming band:
- The squatter: Respond to camera alerts and flash him away. Saving a friend he is dragging away earns NOT ON MY WATCH.
- The Amalgamation: Cut its tentacles until it withdraws to earn CHOP SHOP.
- The endoskeleton room: Find its key, get past the endoskeletons, and open the cabinet at the back for ENDO ROOM.
Keep progressing between interruptions. Keys and code scraps still need searching for, and the Puppet’s advice can help you return to that objective after an encounter.
Weapons and the Bodyguard Can Buy You Time
Paid equipment provides additional ways to interrupt danger:
- Shotgun — 70 Robux: Starts each round with ten shells, with more available around the restaurant. Shots knock animatronics back and stun them.
- Minigun — 299 Robux: Tears animatronics apart, but they rebuild after 45 seconds. Hold fire to spin it up, manage overheating, and conserve the restaurant’s three ammo cans.
- Animatronic Bodyguard — 199 Robux: Accompanies you, searches nearby drawers, opens doors, scouts, warns you, distracts pursuers, and fights.
Use a weapon’s interruption to move toward your objective or escape a blocked route. After a minigun takedown, spend those 45 seconds searching or repositioning before the hunter rebuilds.
If you have EXG and a shotgun, handing him the weapon earns ARMED ESCORT. Keep listening for encounter instructions even with an armed companion nearby.
