How Do You Survive Freddy in Closing Shift?
Closing Shift Freddy encounters demand attention: moving or speaking at the wrong moment can put your run in danger. Freddy hunts through the restaurant, enters Parts & Service during a special encounter, and controls the birthday party. Read the current prompt before deciding whether to move, stay put, or answer him.
Your main objective is still to collect four keys and the four-digit code needed to call the elevator. Search drawers and cabinets, ask the Puppet at the security desk for help, and use the cameras to watch the restaurant.
Freddy’s different encounters call for different responses:
- During a pursuit: Use the restaurant’s hiding spots, vents, and door barricades to create separation. Animatronics can kick barricaded doors in, so keep an escape route in mind.
- In Parts & Service: Stay put and let Freddy pass when the encounter prompt appears.
- At the birthday party: Stay seated and remain silent during the singing.
- During a conversation: Answer when invited and follow the instructions you receive.
Wear headphones so dialogue and nearby sounds are easier to follow. Keep the flashlight-on-the-face tactic for Foxy; Freddy’s Parts & Service encounter gives you a different instruction.

What to Do When Freddy Enters Parts & Service
Parts & Service has a specific survival encounter: a warning tells you Freddy is entering and instructs you to remain where you are while he passes.

When that warning appears:
- Stop moving.
- Let Freddy pass.
- Resume searching after he has passed.
Resist the urge to run through the doorway just because you see him. Follow the stay-put instruction instead of treating this moment like a hallway chase.
This encounter has its own badge, NECK INTACT. You earn it by being inside Parts & Service when Freddy enters and leaving alive. Entering the room alone does not complete the requirement.
Freddy’s Birthday Party Rules
The birthday party interrupts ordinary exploration and puts you under Freddy’s rules. Once you are at the table, stop searching for escape items and pay attention to the dialogue.

The party’s essential rules are:
- Stay in your seat.
- Do not speak while the animatronics sing.
- Follow the warning to look away during Bill’s punishment.
- Wait until Freddy dismisses the party before leaving.
There is a question period before the song. Freddy invites the guests to speak, then tells them to be quiet before the singing begins. Keep those moments separate: permission to ask a question earlier does not carry through the whole event.
Spoiler: Bill admits that he was never a night guard. His confession leads to the suit sequence, but your survival instructions still concern your own behavior. Stay seated, obey the warning to look away, and keep quiet during the song.
When Freddy announces that the party is over and dismisses you, return to searching for the remaining keys and code scraps.
Can You Talk Freddy Into Letting You Go?
Closing Shift lets animatronics hear voice chat and respond. Conversation can lead to being spared, and Freddy has encounters where he questions a player before allowing them to leave.

Speak when the encounter invites an answer. Listen to what Freddy asks, give a direct response, and follow his next instruction. Save jokes and threats for somewhere safer; dialogue is part of the encounter, not a pause in the danger.
Keep two situations separate:
- While searching or hiding: Limit unnecessary voice chat because animatronics listen.
- When Freddy directly addresses you: Pay attention to the conversation and any instructions on screen.
The game also has a last-life interaction tied to SPARED: get caught on your final life, talk back, and go where the animatronic directs you. That badge applies to an animatronic encounter generally, so do not assume every conversation with Freddy follows that sequence.
For help between encounters, visit the Puppet. You can speak, type, or select a question from its list.
Weapons and the Friendly Bear Bodyguard
A bear following another player is not necessarily the Freddy hunting you. The Animatronic Bodyguard is a separate, friendly companion that costs 199 Robux.
The bodyguard follows its owner, searches nearby drawers, opens doors, scouts ahead, gives warnings, distracts pursuers, and fights. Players may call the companion Freddy during a run, but its role is to assist rather than hunt.
Paid weapons provide additional ways to interrupt animatronics:
- Shotgun — 70 Robux: Knocks animatronics back and stuns them. It comes with ten shells per round, with additional shells available around the restaurant.
- Minigun — 299 Robux: Tears animatronics apart, but they rebuild after 45 seconds. It needs time to spin up, can overheat, and has only three ammo cans in the restaurant.
Use a stun or distraction to make progress toward your escape objective. Keep following the Parts & Service and birthday party instructions even when you have equipment.
Badges Connected to These Encounters
These badges give you specific goals while learning Freddy’s encounters and the game’s dialogue system.
| Badge | How to earn it |
|---|---|
| NECK INTACT | Be in Parts & Service when Freddy enters, then leave alive. |
| DON'T LEAVE | Remain in the room during the birthday song and survive. |
| PARTY GUEST | Survive the birthday party. |
| SILVER TONGUE | Persuade an animatronic to let you go. |
| SPARED | Get caught on your last life, talk back, and go where instructed. |
Keep the two birthday badges distinct: DON'T LEAVE concerns surviving the song while remaining in the room, while PARTY GUEST concerns surviving the party. For NECK INTACT, focus on the room’s stay-put prompt rather than trying to force your way past Freddy.
